Spandan: An ECG in your Pocket 

Approximately 20 million people around the globe die due to heart attacks every year. India has one of the highest burdens of cardiovascular disease (CVD) worldwide. 

Why does this happen? Can these lives be saved?

This is majorly due to a lack of monitoring equipments and no routine checkups. Regular heart checkups help detect medical problems early. Early detection prevents a significant proportion of such deaths. 

But ECG tests are expensive and not easily accessible to all. 

After experiencing the loss of a loved one due to a cardiac issue, The founders of Sunfox Technologies were motivated to develop a device that could detect heart abnormalities early on. Rajat Jain, Nitin Chandola, Sabit Rawat, and Saurabh Badola wanted to make a device that could be easily accessible and affordable for everyone.

They created "Spandan". Spandan is a cost-effective, small and portable ECG monitor for home use that detects heart problems. 

With Spandan, Many of these heart attacks can be prevented. Many of these lives can be saved. 

It's a super handy wearable device that tracks your vital signs like heart rate, breathing, and temperature, all in real time! Spandan has an accuracy rate of 99.7%. 

Spandan on Shark Tank India 

The Dehradun-based Trio made an impressive pitch on Shark Tank India, Season 1. 

Initially, Anupam Mittal was sceptical that the device would reduce the revenues of doctors and clinics, but the presenters effectively explained that it would actually increase patient visits as individuals will have a better understanding of their heart activity. Additionally, this device will also educate people on the importance of regular health check-ups

Then the sharks straightaway offered an ‘all-sharks’ joint deal for 6% equity.  In the end, all 5 sharks, Peyush Bansal, Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Ghazal Alagh and Anupam Mittal closed the deal for ₹1 crores for 6% stakes in the company.
